Carapace orbicular, and as well as chelipeds and ambulatory legs covered with a felt-like thick coat of short setae, dorsal surface being armed with several spiniform tubercles arranged symmetrically; six in median line, one on each protogastric region, one on each hepatic region and five on each branchial region, and otherwise one at anterolateral angle of buccal frame, two on subhepatic region, one at posterior part of hepatic border and four on branchial border. Front strongly developed, bifurcate at its tip and only weakly curbed downward; supraorbital angle also tuberculated. Chelipeds of male enormously developed; upper border of merus armed with a small spiniform tubercle, and outer upper surface ornamented with a longitudinal shallow furrow along its upper border. Ambulatory legs long and cylindrical.
