Carapace as long as broad, covered with a thick pubescence and curly hairs on gastric, hepatic and branchial regions; dorsal surface roughened by numerous strong tubercles, among which one each on mesogastric, cardiac, intestinal regions and one at posterolateral part of branchial region are the most prominent. In addition, a tubercle each at protogastric and hepatic regions and about five on branchial region are also larger than the others. A spiniform tubercle at supraorbital angle. Rostrum well developed, its distal half forming wide-spread horns. Upper border of merus of cheliped armed with three distant tubercles. Ambulatory legs long, cylindrical, being covered with short close-set hairs and fringed with curly hairs on upper border of each segment.

Atlantic coast of the Panama Canal Zone, Suriname and Brazil, 9-27 m deep.
Remarks:
The Pacific analogue, L. rostrata Bell, is known from Peru.
