Distribution:
From North Carolina, Bermuda, Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea, to Brazil.
Remarks:
Pareques is distinguishable from this genus by less than 41 dorsal soft rays. Another species of this genus, E. punctatus, is distinguishable from this species by having pale spots on soft dorsal and caudal fins, and 45〜47 dorsal soft rays.
