S. albifimbriaでは眼径が吻長の0.9〜1.5倍,胸鰭が臀鰭第3棘より先には達しない。臀鰭第2棘はS. albifimbriaでは第3棘より長いが,S. agassiziiでは第3棘と等しいか短い(Eschmeyer, 1965a; 1969)。 (上野・佐藤)

(Genus):Dorsal spines 12; dorsal soft rays less than 10; lateral line scales with tube and pore; cranium robust with supraocular and postocular spine; body covered with cycloid scales; lateral line complete reaching caudal fin base. (Species):Occiptital pit present; 2 spines present on a part of preorbital overlapping maxilla; supplemental preopercular spine present; no dark spot in inner basal part of pectoral fin; eye large being 1.5〜2.2 times of snout length; pectoral fin long reaching end of anal fin in adult.
