(Genus):Dorsal spines 12; dorsal soft rays less than 10; lateral-line scales with tube and pore; cranium robust with supraocular and postocular spines; no occipital pit; body covered with ctenoid scales; lateral line complete reaching caudal fin base; pectoral rays unbranched; a part of preorbital bone overlapping maxillary, with 2 spines; supplemental preopercular spine present. (Species):Snout short and almost equal to orbit diameter; pectoral rays 17〜18; 3rd dorsal spine not elongated.
