(Family):Gill opening well developed. Anterior nostril well above upper lip. Dorsal, anal, and caudal fins continuous. Supramaxillary present. (Genus):A strong spine on snout directed anteriorly. Pelvic fin inserted at about below orbit. Barbel absent. (Species):No dark blotch on body. Dorsal and anal fin margins black. No pigments on gill arch. Developed gill rakers on 1st arch 4. Pelvic fin length 29〜35% of HL.
Distribution:
Tropical western North Atlantic.
Remarks:
The species is distinguished from L. brevibarbe and L. aporrhox by no pigmentation on gill arch (Robins, 1958; 1961). (Arai)
