Sculpture of dorsal surface deep; transverse striae with minute granules, and many striae except for main ones cut off into short pieces, making general appearance of carapace rough and rather scaly; a pair of distinct spines on protogastric region, and sometimes a small one behind it and also at anterior part of branchial region; several spines on anterior half of lateral border of carapace. Rostral spine markedly long, exceeding tip of cornea just by median part; supraorbital spine slightly directed outward, extending distinctly beyond tip of cornea; dorsal surface of rostral and supraorbital spines scaly with minute granules. Basal segment of antennule armed with three long spines on its outer border, and its inner distal spine much shorter than them. Second and third abdominal segments with some spinules. Chelipeds of male very long and covered with soft hairs and rows of spines. Ambulatory legs hairy and spinose; posterior borders of propodi with spinules.
