Typical for Munida, with many transverse striae and a shallow cervical groove; two pairs of spines arranged longitudinally on protogastric regions, an indistinct one each at lateral and median part of gastric region; a small spine on cardiac region, and a similar one on anterior branchial region just behind cervical groove, and a pair of spines on median part of posterior border of carapace. A pair of prominent spines on anterior margins of second to fourth abdominal segments, and in addition, a distinct median spine on fourth segment; some spinules at lateral parts of anterior margins of second and third segments; an anterolateral spine prominent and some minute ones on following lateral border of carapace. Rostral spine protruded beyond cornea, but supraorbital spine about a half in length and barely reaching cornea. Chelipeds markedly long, and upper and inner borders armed with equidistant spines; two spines on inner margin of carpus, and palm rather scaly, without both borders of carpus each with a terminal spine.

Previously known from the eastern Gulf of Mexico and off Grenada in the Lessor Antilles, 150-205 m deep.
