Carapace roughly quadrangular, only slightly widening posteriorly; dorsal surface rather flat as a whole, only with a longitudinal obtuse ridge of gastric region and a more or less conical cardiac region, being covered with minute scaly granules, without any spines or spinules; anterolateral angle of carapace distinctly angulated. Rostrum long, comparatively wide at its base and distinctly depressed, being curved dorsally for its distal half. Eyestalk narrow and close to rostrum in position; cornea very small without pigment and ends just at half way of rostrum in natural position. Basal segment of antennule swollen and armed with two distal spines. Merus of third maxilliped with two or three spines on its inner border. No spine on abdoem, but a low tubercle each on second and third segments. Chelipeds and ambulatory legs stout.

Previously known from off the coasts of Cuba, and off St. Kitts and Barbados in the Lesser Antilles, 360-354 m deep.
