Height 170 mm, breadth 95 mm. Shell thick, heavy, solid. Upper whorls turreted, pinkish, with granulated spiral cords. Later whorls inflated, with low, broad spiral ribs and slender cords in the inter-rib grooves, and low varix at every 240°. Primary ribs about a dozen on the body whorl, stronger on the shoulder and periphery, with crescent brown blotches that connected axially. Aperture broad. Outer lip crenulated in accordance with spiral ribs with an axial row of brown spots internally carrying 1〜2 white callus ridges. Dark brownish callus deposited from inner to columellar lips on which some 30 irregular folds present. Siphonal canal short. Raula of taeniglossate; central low, wide, with 8〜9 cusps on both sides of central cusp; lateral and marginal teeth similar to each other, sickle-shaped with serration.

Southeast Florida to Brazil, also in the Mediterranean.
