Height 63 mm, breadth 40 mm. Shell rather thin and light short fusiform, ornamented with regular spiral ribs only. Shell yellowish with regular brown maculations along growth lines emphasized in inter-rib grooves. Spiral ribs about 10 on the penultimate whorl. Whorls almost round but feebly shouldered. Periostracum hairy. Aperture broad, semi-lunar. Outer lip not thickened. Siphonal canal rather short. Operculum small for the apertural area.
Distribution:
North Carolina to Texas and to Brazil.
Remarks:
This species is hardly distinguishable from the Western Pacific C. poulesi and Eastern Pacific C. wiegmanni.
