特 徴：
殻高63mm，殻径40mm。殻はやや薄質で軽い。短紡錘形。胎殻は突出し黄色。後生殻は規則的な螺状肋のみで，縦肋，縦張肋はなく成長線にそって褐色斑が不規則にあり，褐色は螺肋間の溝で強調されている。螺肋は次体層で約10本，体層では殻底まで同じ調子で続く。各螺層は殆んど丸く膨れるが，肩に多少角がついている。殻皮は厚く，同属の他種同様，成長線に沿って立ち上り，その上が毛状になる。殻口は広く半月形で，外唇は殆ど肥厚せず，螺溝の終端に合わせて10数個の褐色の小突起列がある。軸唇にも薄く滑層が被り，縫帯との間に隙間がある。前管溝は短い。蓋は殻口に比し小ぶりで，核は内方に位置する。
採集記録：
水深59m（生貝1，死殻2）。
分 布：
ノースカロライナ〜テキサス〜ブラジル。
備 考：
本種はインド西太平洋のシゲトウボラC. (L.) poulseni，東太平洋の種C. (L.) wiegmanniとは区別出来ない。
Diagnostic characters：
Height 63 mm, breadth 40 mm. Shell rather thin and light short fusiform, ornamented with regular spiral ribs only. Shell yellowish with regular brown maculations along growth lines emphasized in inter-rib grooves. Spiral ribs about 10 on the penultimate whorl. Whorls almost round but feebly shouldered. Periostracum hairy. Aperture broad, semi-lunar. Outer lip not thickened. Siphonal canal rather short. Operculum small for the apertural area.
Distribution：
North Carolina to Texas and to Brazil.
Remarks：
This species is hardly distinguishable from the Western Pacific C. poulesi and Eastern Pacific C. wiegmanni.
