特 徴：
甲幅8cm。甲面に大小の不規則な斑点があるが，その多少，大小，形には著しい変異があり，時にはやや長くなり，あるいは列をなして線状を呈する。歩脚の長節中央部，長節と腕節および腕節と前節の関節部の帯状斑は常に明瞭である。甲面はほとんど滑らかで，甲域ははっきりしないが，原，中胃域，中，後鰓域，心域に相当する部分に，それぞれ小顆粒が集まってごく低い稜を形成している。甲の前側縁は板状で，11歯に分けられるが，それぞれ再び3歯に分けられ，中央のものが大きい。前端から眼窩外歯へ向かう弱い稜と下方へ向かう強い稜によって頬部が区画される。甲の後側縁は2列にくっついた顆粒列の縁取りが明瞭で，前方に浅い切れ込み，後方に弱い突起がある。前側縁と後側縁との交点はあまり強い歯が形成されず，また，直前の，すなわち前側縁の最後の歯が甲の最大幅をなす。はさみ脚掌部の顆粒列は低く，やや鱗状を呈する。
採集記録：
水深32〜50m（15♂♂，2 ovig.♀♀，15♀♀）。
分 布：
アメリカ・ジョージア州沿岸から西インド諸島，パナマを経てブラジル・サンパウロまで。水深7〜37m。
Diagnostic characters：
Carapace transversely ovate, being 1.3 to 1.45 times as broad as long; dorsal surface almost smooth, with only faint indications of eight transverse rows of tubercles. Anterolateral border of carapace arched, crested narrowly, and cut into 11 teeth, each of which is again divided into three. Angle between antero-and posterolateral borders not strong, lying behind the broadest part of carapace. Posterolateral border fringed with strong crest made a double row of tubercles; an inconspicuous incision anteriorly and a small angle posteriorly. Carapace ornamented by scattered blotches of variable numder, size and shape; in some specimens blotches elongated and arranged transversely to form some series or almost lines.
