Specimens examined：3 (SL 55.3～58.5 mm).
Counts：D ⅩⅠ, 10～11; A Ⅰ, 10; P1 12+3; P2 Ⅰ, 5; GR 1+7～10=8～11.
特 徴：
（科）：胸鰭下部の3軟条は遊離する。下顎にひげがない。（属）：背鰭基底の両側に有棘楯状板がない。背鰭棘は11本。鰓蓋膜は鱗を被らない。（種）：吻突起は不明瞭で，その長さは基部の幅より小さい。眼前部は鋸歯状で，うち1棘が長い。眼上棘がない。眼後棘はないが，三角形の突起があったりなかったりする。前鰓蓋骨に鋭く長い1棘があり，その棘の基部に付加的な小棘がない。主鰓蓋骨に長く鋭い1棘があり，その先端は鎖骨の1棘を越える。上側頭骨の後端は鈍く棘様でない。眼窩径は頭長の30～32％。両眼間隔は眼窩径の38～44％。背鰭に糸状に伸びた棘がない（1個体のみ第1棘が伸びかかっていると考えられるものがあった）。胸部から腹部中央付近までの範囲は無鱗。背鰭の第4棘と第5棘の間に明瞭な黒斑が1個ある。

Distinctive characters：
(Family)：Three lowermost pectoral rays free. No barbel on lower jaw. (Genus)：No spinous plate on both sides of dorsal fin base. Dorsal spines usually 11. No scales on opercular membrane. (Species)：Rostral exsertion spinous and rudimentary, its length shorter than its basal width. Preocular region serrated, one of the spines longer. No supraocular spine. A triangular projection present or absent on postocular region. A preopercular spine without supplemental small spine at its base. Tip of opercular spine extending beyond cleithral spine. Posterior end of posttemporal rounded, not spinous. Orbit diameter 30～32％ of HL. Interorbital width 38～44％ of orbit diameter. No filamentous dorsal spine (in one specimen, however, it appears that 1st spine was becomming filamentous). No scale between thorax and median of abdomen. A distinct black spot present between 4th and 5th dorsal spines.
