特 徴：
（科）：胸鰭下部の3軟条は遊離する。下顎にひげがない。（属）：背鰭基底の両側に有棘楯状板がない。背鰭棘は11本。鰓蓋膜は鱗を被らない。（種）：顕著な吻突起があり，その長さは基部の幅より大きい。眼前棘と眼上棘がない。眼後棘はないが，鋭い三角形の突起がある。前鰓蓋骨に鋭く長い1棘があり，その棘の基部に付加的な小棘はない。主鰓蓋骨の1棘の先端は鎖骨の1棘を越えない。上側頭骨の後端は円く棘様をなさない。眼窩径は頭長の24～25％。両眼間隔は眼窩径の59～70％。背鰭第1棘は糸状に長く伸び，その先端は尾鰭基底に達する。胸部は鱗を被るが，腹鰭基底の後端から腹部中央までの範囲は無鱗。眼の上部1/3に暗色の細縞が放射状に並ぶ。
分 布：

Distinctive characters：
(Family)：Three lowermost pectoral rays free. No barbel on lower jaw. (Genus)：No spinous plate on both sides of dorsal fin base. Dorsal spines usually 11. No scales on opercular membrane. (Species)：Length of rostral exsertion longer than its basal width. No preocular and supraocular spines. A blunt triangular projection present on postocular region. Preopercular spine without supplemental small spine at its base. Tip of opercular spine not extending beyond cleithral spine. Posterior end of posttemporal rounded, not spinous. Orbit diameter 24～25％ of HL. Interorbital width 59～70％ of orbit diameter. First dorsal spine filamentous, its tip reaching caudal fin base. No scale between posterior end of pelvic fin base and median of abdomen. Radial dark streaks on dorsal 1/3 of eye.
