(Genus):Body fusiform. Two small keels and a large median keel between them on each side of caudal peduncle. First and second dorsal fins barely separated. Black spots usually present between pectoral and pelvic fin bases. No dark longitudinal stripe on belly. The fleshy process between pelvic fins double and small. Anterior body scales enlarged and modified to form a corselet. Body naked posterior to the corselet except along lateral line. Pectoral fin with 26〜27 rays. Teeth on jaws small, conical, hardly compressed. Upper surface of tongue with 2 longitudinal ridges. (Species):Snout longer than a half of postorbital length of head. Head length 3.7〜4.0 times in fork length. Origin of the 2nd dorsal fin nearer to posterior margin of opercle than to posterior end of caudal keels. A row of minute teeth on palatine. No tooth on vomer.
