Body elongate and compressed, body depth 2.8 in SL. Eye large, its diameter 2.3 in head length. Teeth on both jaws conical; anterior teeth on upper jaw and lateral teeth on lower jaw notably enlarged. Posterior margin of preopercle serrated; fleshy lobe developed and projected posterionly at posteroventral portion of preopercle. Caudal pedncle slender. Caudal fin forked. Body pale yellowish brown with many small black spots; a small silver central spot on black spots in opercular region; all fins pale.
Distribution:
From Bahamas to Suriname.
Remarks:
This species resembles A. conclini and A. xenus, but differs from them by the enlarged teeth on both jaws and 17 gill rakers on the lower limb of the first gill arch (14〜16 in A. conclini and 13〜15 in A. xenus). (Matsuura)
