Height 83 mm, breadth 24 mm. Shell solid, fusiform. Whorls with 7─8 slender, spaced spiral ribs, between which present growth lines, and the one on the shoulder strongest. Body whorl occupies about half the shell length including siphonal canal, with more than a dozen of spiral cords on the base of rough surface. Surface grayish white with no color maculations. Aperture fusiform with a thin outer lip carrying a shallow sinus at the shouder. Siphonal canal straight, long, tapers. Operculum horny, leaf-shaped.
Distribution:
Florida to Louisiana and off Suriname.
Remarks:
This species somewhat resembles a sympatric P. albida, but differs in having shallower sinus and slenderer spirals.
