Height 80 mm, breadth 23 mm. Shell solid, fusiform with more than 10 whorls. Whorls with a strong peripheral keel accompanied by moderately strong keels below and above that and several secondary ones in between. Body whorl with several more spiral ribs with secondary ones towards the base. Surface white to pale brown. Brown specimes has white spiral ribs, while white specimes has brownish apex. Aperture narrow. Outer lip crenulated in accordance with spiral ribs and anal fasciole coincident with peripheral keel. Interior white. Siphonal canal thick and long. Operculum horny, leaf-shaped.
Distribution:
Gulf of Mexico, West Indies and off Suriname.
Remarks:
This species differs from the Westen Pacific Lophioturris leucotropis in having thicker canal and occurrence of white individuals.
