Height 98 mm, breadth 29 mm. Shell solid, short pyriform with a long siphonal canal. Teleoconch with varix at every 120°. Axial ribs between adjoining varices 4-5, granulous. Shoulder spine longest and almost straight. Amidst spines present small spinelets directed forwards. Aperture oval with outer-lip thickened by last spinous varix. Columellar lip with callus reflecting over fasciole forming a pseudoumbilicus. Siphonal canal long with 6-7 spines and spinelets. Color pure white except yellowish protoconch and very fine stripes in brown on siphonal canal.

Remarks:
This species is far larger than any other species of Murex (s. s. ) in the same zoogeographical area. Also, pure white shell is characteristic.
