Height 57 mm, breadth 33 mm. Shell ovoidal or short fusiform, rather thick, with flat-sided spires and inflated body whorl. Spires almost flat with stepped suture and a slight constriction below the suture. Spiral ribs above the subsutural constriction slender but flatter and broader below. Surface pale purplish brown covered by a straw-colored periostracum. Aperture semi-lunar with slightly thickened outer lip. White semilunar callus deposited on inner and columaller lips. Operculum leaf-shaped with anterior nucleus. Radula of taenioglossate; central trapezoid, with 5 cusps on both sides of central cusp; lateral quadrate with large denticles inside and marginals simple.
Distribution:
Lesser Antilles to Colombia and off Suriname. Bathyal.
Remarks:
Except for distinct constriction below the suture, many characters are in common with the genus Oocorys.
