Distribution:
Both Chilean and Argentine Patagonia.
Remarks:
D. mawsoni which has more southern distribution is distinguished from this species in having scales on upper surface of head not extending well anterior to level of anterior margin of eye and 35 scales in lower lateral line, not extending forward as far as level of middle of anal fin (Norman, 1937b). The depth range of this species given by De Witt(1971) is 72-830 m.
