特 徴：
（属）：主上顎骨歯は櫛状で，後方に傾いた歯が密に並び，各歯は基部で接している。前上顎骨と歯骨の前部には数本の強い，ほこ形の牙状歯がある。臀鰭は12〜22軟条。（種）：胸鰭前発光器と胸部腹側発光器は一直線をなす。胸部腹側発光器の後部は漸進的に上がる。尾部発光器は等間隔に並び，ほぼ一直線をなす。背鰭起部は腹鰭起部よりわずかに後位。脂鰭起部は第1尾部発光器の直上。鬚は茎部が黒色で，先端部に長円形で白色の球状体を備える。その球状体の先端には1本の長い糸状物が付属する。

本固体は未記載種と考えられる。（藤井）
Distinctive characters：
(Genus)：Teeth on maxillary closely spaced, their bases touching, comb-like, slanting backward. Some strong, hastate fangs on premaxillary and anterior dentary. Anal fin with 12〜22 rays. (Species)：IP and PV photophores forming a straight line. Posterior PV elevated progressively. AC photophores equally spaced, roughly forming a straight line. Dorsal origin slightly posterior to pelvic insertion. Adipose fin origin directly above 1st AC. Barbel with black stem and an oval, white distal bulb; a single long filament attached to tip of the bulb.
Distribution：
Off Suriname (7°39′N, 53°48′W).
Remarks：
It seems that the present individual is an undescribed species. (Fujii)
