Snout extremely produced and pointed, preocular length 3.1 times of internarial width. First dorsal originated above pectoral base. Interdosal ridge absent. Second dorsal origin opposite anal origin. Precaudal pits present. Pectoral fin large, its anterior margin equal to 1/5 of TL. Eye with a well developed nictitating membrane. Labial folds short but distinct on both jaws. Teeth on jaws with narrow and nearly erect cusps; upper jaw teeth finely serrated, the lower smooth edged.
Distribution:
Known only from off Guyanas, Trinidad, and Suriname.
Remarks:
Easily distinguished by its unique snout. Although previous descriptions do not refer to, a small spiracle is present on the left side of head of the specimen. (Uyeno and Sasaki)
