Snout long and pointed, preocular length 1.6 times of internarial width. Prenarial length longer than distance from nostril (anteriormost) to front of mouth. First dorsal originated above the inner margin of pectoral. Distance between dorsal fin bases 2.9 times of the vertical height of first dorsal. Interdorsal ridge absent. Second dorsal origin opposite anal fin origin. Precaudal pits present. Eye with a well developed nictitating membrane, its diameter 1/5 of preocular length. Spiracle absent. Upper labial fold short, the lower hidden in the angle. Teeth on jaws same in shape, with narrow cusps, the upper finely serrated, the lower smooth edged (Fig.) Young specimens (less than 70 cm) have unmarked fins.

Remarks:
A similar shark, C. limbatus, has short prenarial length equal to, or shorter than distance from nostril to front of mouth (Branstetter, 1982). (Uyeno and Sasaki)
