Height 74 mm, breadth 21 mm. Shell thin, biconic, with very high spires. Early whorls with granules around the shoulder, but later ones smooth. Lateral wall almost straight, with several spiral cords and growth lines that emphasized by periostracum. Surface pale brownish with brown axial stripes of various strength. Apertural lip thin, slightly sinuous behind. Radula of toxoglossate, with 2 barbs distally and a knob proxially.
Distribution:
Florida, Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea and off Suriname.
Remarks:
This species somewhat resembles C. orbignyi in general outline, but the latter is heavily granulous on the shoulder. Radula shows that this species is close to Endemnoconus.
