Height 80 mm, breadth 50 mm. Shell solid, biconic, low spires without sculptures. Shoulder round. Body whorl smooth except weak spiral grooves on the base. Surface pale bluish gray with irregular brown clouds. Operculum small, rather thick.
Distribution:
Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea, Brazil and west coast of Africa.
Remarks:
This species has been well known by a synonymous name, C. raniculus. This resembles C. fulmen in the West Pacific but has much broader shell.
