Diagnostic characters:
Height 20 mm, breadth 30 mm. Very similar to the preceding species, G. superba, but is separable from it in following characters:(1) Shell smaller, more inflated with round basal periphery; (2) Protoconch persistent and earlier teleoconch with weak radial (axial) plicae; (3) Spiral lirae more distinct, perceptable with naked eye; (4) Umbilical pad covered the whole perforation without leaving a slit; (5) Outer lip of aperture not so much thickened and reflected.
Distribution:
Cuba, Lesser Antilles and off Suriname. Bathyal.
Remarks:
Only 3 speciesism of this species were found in the sample in contrast to several hunderds G. superba showing bathymetrical difference of habitat. According to Clench &
Abbott (1943) G. superba lives in 155-34 fms., while G. fisheri does in 423-500 fms.
