Height 30 mm, breadth 45 mm. Shell thin, helicoid, 8-8.5 turns usually without protoconch. Surface almost smooth, shining in golden iridescence, except for microscopic growth lines and spiral lirae, with a purplish hue near the apex. Each whorl moderately inflated, but base rather flat presenting a weak keel on basal periphery. Umbilicus open in immature specimens but sealed with silverly callus in adult leaving a small slit towards the columella. Outer lip thickened, slightly reflected. Columellar lip continuous to umbilical callus. Aperture with strong pearly lustre inside. Operculum thin, horny, multispiral. Radular formula 15.5.1.5.15. Central quadrate with a single serrated cusp, marginal with similar cusp and laterals except wide terminal one mostly sickleshaped with serration along the margin.
