メキシコマメダコ（新称）（Joubin's octopus）
Octopus joubini Robson, 1929
特 徴：
全長13cmぐらいの小型のタコ。体長は平滑か，ごく小さい疣がある。腕は極めて短く頭の幅は狭い。右第Ⅲ腕が交接腕で，舌状片は同腕の4～7％で，狭く数本の横溝がある。半鰓葉は6～7。生鮮時は赤褐色，時には淡彩。
採集記録：
水深81～87m（2個体）。
分 布：
フロリダ南部～西インド諸島，スリナム沖。
備 考：
フロリダ～メキシコ湾沿岸に多く，必ず二枚貝の死殻内をすみ家にしている。
Diagnostic characters：
Small octopus measuring 13 cm in total length. Skin smooth except small
tubercles. Arms short, head narrow. Right Arm Ⅲ in male hectocotylized.
Lingula index 4─7%, narrow, with several transverse grooves. Half demibranchs
6─7. Reddish brown to pale brownish.
Distribution：
South Florida to West Indies and off Suriname.
Remarks：
Abundant along the shore of Florida to Mexico. This species always utilizes empty shells for shelter.
