ウデブトダコ（新称）（Brian Octopus）
Octopus briareus Robson, 1929
特 徴：
全長30cmぐらい。体表は滑らか或いは，僅かに顆粒状で，第Ⅱ腕と第Ⅲ腕が第Ⅰ・Ⅳ腕に比べいちじるしく太く長い。傘膜は極めて狭い。右第Ⅲ腕が交接腕で，舌状片は幅の広いスプーン状で，同腕の3～4％で，約13の横溝が走る。半鰓葉は6～8。生時は淡赤褐色から赤斑のある色彩である。
採集記録：
水深46～87m（少なくとも13個体）。
分 布：
ノースカロライナ，フロリダ，西インド諸島，スリナム。
Diagnostic characters：
About 30 cm in total length. Skin smooth but occasionally slightly granulous.
Arms Ⅱ and Ⅲ much longer and stouter than the other arms. Umbrella very
narrow. Right Arm Ⅲ in male hectocotylized with lingula index 3～4%, spoonshaped,
bearing 13 transverse grooves. Half demibranchs 6～8. Pale reddish brown
to reddish spotted.
Distribution：
North Carolina, Florida, West Indies and off Suriname.
