Mantle 9 cm in length, short, saccular, about 2/3 as wide as long. Fins oval, laterally placed. Eyes prominently large. Arms moderate, with 2 series of rather sparsely arranged suckers of which mid-potion enlarged in male. Dorsal arms in males hectocotylized, with 6 paris of normal suckers proximally followed by 6 pairs of enlarged suckers and then abruptly small suckers distally. A fleshy pad or fold presents on the ventral margin of the arm. Tentacle stout with twisted club that carries 30─40 rows of minute suckers. Pigmentation on body surface extends to the ventral surface of the fins.

Florida, Cuba and Suriname.
Remarks:
This is a large species of the genus and is replaced by R. bullisi in the north.
