(Family):Lower jaw with many barbels. Two lowermost pectoral rays free. (Genus):Jaws without tooth. Posterior end of perifacial rim not ending as spine, if spine present shorter than eye diameter. No spine on midline of snout. (Species):Perifacial rim notably low, its posterior end forming nearly right angle. Ridges beneath perifacial rim on preopercle and on lower jaw notably low and indistinct. Opercular ridge low, its edge serrated, posterior end spinous. No spine on near base of rostral exsertion and nasal. No preocular and supraocular spine. A triangular projection present on postocular region. Lower jaw with 25〜26 barbels on one side, longest one bearing branches 22〜30% of HL. Scales in 4 rows, 28+1, 33〜34+1, 24〜25+1, 23+0 (from top to bottom row, + indicates scale on caudal fin).
