Specimens examined：4 (SL 74.0～90.4 mm).
Counts：D ⅩⅢ, 21～22; A Ⅲ, 18; P1 15; SLL 36.
特 徴：
体は強く側扁する。背鰭と臀鰭の後部は円い。尾鰭は截形かわずかに湾入する。体は白く背方は淡褐色。背鰭起部から眼を通って鰓蓋部下方に至る黒色帯がある。この黒色帯の前後は細い黄色線で縁取られる。吻部背縁は黒色。尾柄部に幅広い黒色横帯があり，背鰭と臀鰭の軟条部後方へと延長する。背鰭と臀鰭の軟条部後縁は白色線で細く縁どられる。尾鰭は淡黄色で基部は白い。胸鰭と腹鰭は白色。
分 布：
バハマ諸島，西インド諸島，スリナム沿岸。
備 考：
本種は同属のC. ocellatusに似るが背鰭軟条部に眼状斑がないこと，背鰭と臀鰭の軟条部後方が角張らず円いこと等で区別できる。 （松浦）
Distinctive characters：
Body strongly compressed. Posterior parts of dorsal and anal fins rounded. Caudal fin truncate or slightly rounded. Dorsal half of body pale brown, ventral half white; a vertical black band extending from origin of dorsal fin through eye to opercular region; this black band edged with narrow yellow lines; dorsal part of snout black; a broad black band on caudal peduncle, extending to posterior part of anal fin; soft portions of dorsal and anal fins edged posteriorly with a narrow white line; caudal fin yellow with white base; pectoral and pelvic fins white.
Distribution：
Bahamas, West Indies, and off Suriname.
Remarks：
This species is similar to C. ocellatus but differs from it by having no dark rounded spot on the dorsal fin and the dorsal and anal fins rounded posteriorly. (Matsuura)
