(Family):Head and anterior part of body much depressed and very broard. Posterior part of body tapering. Skin smooth, naked with fleshy flaps. (Genus):Gill opening extending in front of pectoral fin. Bony ridge on snout, smooth. (Species):Dorsal fin spines 4, soft rays 8. Anal fin rays 6. First and 2nd dorsal spines equal in length, with cirri and pigments on stem. Esca simple, without cirri nor pennant-like flap, its tip darkly pigmented (Fig.). Pectoral fin rays 17, its tip light or white. Dark cirri in the center of whitish spots on dorsal surface. Ventral surface dark gray.

Remarks:
This specimen is very similar to L. monodi but the latter has esca with white tip. (Uyeno and Aizawa)
