Outer corner of disc broadly rounded. Disc width 0.9 of disc length. Snout projecting conspicuously, and its tip rather acutely pointed; preoral length 3/7 of disc width. Eye smaller than spiracle, its diameter 1/20 of preoral length. Tail extremely long and whip-like with a low cutaneous keel on either side, its length 3.1 times of disc width. Pelvic fin with narrowly pointed outer corner. Midline of back with a row of thorns; small conical thorns distributed sparsely on central region.
Distribution:
Known only from Venezuela and Suriname.
Remarks:
The present species easily separable from any other stingrays by the unique shape of snout and pelvic fin. (Uyeno and Sasaki)
