(Family):Electric organ developed between side of head and forward extension of pectoral. Two dorsal fins. Skin smooth. (Genus):Nostril subdivided by a cross bridge about midway of its length. Teeth entirely concealed when mouth closed. (Species):Tips of dorsals pointed. Anterior margin of pelvic not concealed by posterior part of pectoral. Spiracle fringed with 5〜7 small papillae. Origin of first dorsal somewhat in front of distal margin of pelvic. Teeth diamond shaped, each tooth with a small pointed denticle directed inward at its posterior angle. Dorsal side of body light brown scattered with irregularly shaped darker blotches. White spots symmetrically distributed on dorsal surface.

Off Guiana and Venezuela.
Remarks:
D. ommata is known from the eastern Pacific. (Uyeno and Miyake)
