特 徴：
外套長5cm。外套膜は短く吊鐘状。外套膜は柔軟で平滑，発光器が多数並び大きいものは約7列。鰭は丸みがあって，後縁で連絡する。頭部は大きく，この属の特徴として左眼が右眼より大きく非相称。腕は長く細まる。吸盤は2列で，角質環は殆ど歯がない。頭部腹面から腕にかけて発光器が密に分布し，第Ⅳ腕は基部4列，先端方2列の縦列となる。触腕は長く，掌部には5列の吸盤があり，吸盤角質環には側面がまっすぐの鋭歯又は鈍歯がある。
採集記録：
水深810m（1個体）。
分 布：
温熱帯大西洋全域。（55°N～20°S）。
Diagnostic characters：
Mantle 5 cm in length, short, bell-shaped. Surface smooth. Fins small oval, and terminal. Head large with asymmetrical eyes (left being larger than the right). Arms long, with 2 series of suckers which bear smooth rings. Tentacles long, with 5 rows of suckers on the club. Tentacular sucker ring with straight-sided sharp teeth. Ventral body covered by numerous photophores. On the ventral arms, photophores 4 rows proximally becoming 2 rows distally.
Distribution：
Temperate to tropical Atlantic Ocean.
