(Family): Body flabby and naked. One dorsal fin, base short, located just behind head. Pelvic fin jugular, with a few rays. Anal fin base extremely long, continuous with caudal fin. (Genus): Pelvic fin long, its tip exceeding mid-point between pelvic fin base and anus. (Species): Snout tip round. Body flabby, no scales. A lateral line on mid body. Only upper jaw teethed. Gill rakers stout and short.

Remarks:
The present specimen belongs Ateleopus for its length of pelvic fin. It is identified Ateleopus sp., since the fin ray count of anal plus caudal fins does not agree with any described species. (Shimizu)
