Length 53 mm, height 40 mm, breadth 24 mm. Shell thick, typical veneroid. Beaks small, situated anterior to the center. Lunule distinct. Margins generally gentle except a weakly angulated postero-dorsal corner. Surface polished, brownish with paler or darker radial bands that give shell a checker pattern. Interior pale purplish. Cardinal armature solid, with bifurcated cardinal tooth and distinct laterals. Pallial sinus distinct. Ventral margin smooth.
