Height 55 mm, breadth 40 mm. Shell solid, thick, globular with a low spire. Protoconch mamillar, white. Early teleconch cancellated, but axial sculptures become obsolete later except a varix at 2/3 of the body whorl, and low, flat spiral ribs become prominent. Surface pale brown with quadrate brown blotches arranged in a regular pattern. Aperture wide, hemi-circular. Outer lip thickened with the last varix carrying some 20 spiral ribs. A deep groove presents just behind the outer lip. A white callus deposited on inner to columellar lips. Granules present on the columellar lip. Anterior canal deep, fasciole strongly recurved with pseudoumbilicus.
