Height 140 mm, breadth 80 mm (grown specimens attain 335 mm high). Shell thick, heavy, fusiform. Earlier teleoconch cancellated, but later spiral cords diminish but knobs remain on the shoulder. Knobs 10-12 on intermediate whorls but diminish adaperturally. Aperture narrow, with immature outer lip. (In grown specimen outer lip expanded hemi-circularly beyond the apex.) Coloration white with reddish diffusing stripes. (In grown specimen, dorsal side with brown blotches and deep spiral grooves).
Distribution:
Brazil and off Suriname.
Remarks:
Only two empty immature specimens are available in this survey. This is one of the gigantic strombids in the Tropical western Atlantic.
