スリナムジンドウイカ
Loligo surinamensis Voss, 1974
外套長12cm。外套膜は細長い中型のヤリイカ類。眼は閉眼型。雄の第Ⅰ～Ⅲ腕の吸盤は雌のそれより拡大している。大吸盤角質環には5～8の矩形の歯がある。雄の左第Ⅳ腕は交接腕になっていて，基部寄りの22～24の正常吸盤に続いて，背側6～8個の吸盤が縮少又は欠除する平たい肉嘴に変形している。しかし先端は再び正常な吸盤に戻る。触腕掌部の吸盤4列のうち中央2列は縁部のものより僅かに大きい。角質環には48～49の鋭歯が大小交互にある。

備 考：
アメリカケンサキイカL. pealeiと類似しているが，(1)右Ⅳ腕中ほどの吸盤角質環に鋭歯をもつ（アメリカケンサキイカでは鈍歯），(2)交接腕肉嘴が扁平巾広の三角形である2点のみで区別可能である。

Diagnostic characters：
Mantle conico-cylindrical, 12 cm in length. Horny rings of large sucker of arms with 5～8 blunt teeth. Left ventral arm of male hectocotylized, with 22～24 normal suckers followed with 6～8 reduced or vestigial dorsal suckers and again with normal distal suckers. Tentacular club with 4 rows of suckers of which medial ones slightly larger than marginal. Horny rings with 48～49 sharp teeth alternating in size.

Remarks：
This species is very much close to L. pealei in general morphology, but separable therefrom in having sharply toothed sucker on ventral arms and widely flattened pedicels on the modified portion of the hectocotylus.
