Mantle elongate cylindrical, 14 cm in length (grown male attains 35 cm), 7 times as long as wide, with mid-ventral fleshy ridge and longitudinal purplish stripes on the male's ventrum. Fins rhombic, as long as half the mantle length. Arms rather weak, sucker rings with blunt teeth. Left ventral arm in male hectocotylized, of which distal half modified. Tentacular club with 4 rows of suckers of which medial ones thrice larger than the marginals. Horny rings of large suckers with 26〜45 teeth that arranged in subequal interval. Gladius with slightly thickened lateral margin.
