Carapace, chelipeds and ambulatory legs thickly and uniformly covered with short stiff hairs; hairs on inner surface of chela rather long. Dorsal surface of carapace vaulted and divided into areolae by shallow and wide furrows. Frontal median tooth tuberculated and directed obliquely downward, each lateral tooth being curved outward; external orbital tooth also tuberculated and as long as frontal median tooth. Anterolateral border of carapace armed with four prominent tubercles, the third of which is the smallest; outer border of last tooth rather sinuate and thus the last tooth is more or less lobate. A tubercle at anterior end of posterolateral border. Chelipeds heavy; outer surface of carpus with some low mounds, and upper border of palm fringed with some small, truncated tubercles. Two pairs of ambulatory legs stout; outer surface of carpus with a longitudinal ridge. Two subdorsal, reduced legs subchelate as usual.
