Body fusisorm and elongate; head depressed. A large oval-shaped disk on head with 22〜24 disk laminae. Mouth wide, lower jaw projecting beyond upper jaw. Dorsal and anal fins long, lacking spines. Caudal fin emarginate. Body dark brown, becoming paler ventrally; dorsal and anal fins dark brown with white tips; caudal fin blackish brown with upper and lower white margins.

Remarks:
This species resembles E. neucratoides but is distinguishable from it by the higher numbers of dorsal and anal fin rays, more laminae on the sucking disk, and the slender body. (Matsuura)
