(Family):Body naked. Basibranchial tooth patch absent. Opercular spine weak or absent. Pectoral fin ray one or absent. Dorsal, anal, and caudal fins continuous. (Genus):Eye deeply embedded under skin. Long gill rakers on 1st arch 24〜33. Palatine teeth present. (Species):Eyes pigmented and directed anteriorly. Both jaws covered with small conical teeth anteriorly, a row of canine teeth posteriorly. A pair of large canine tooth on vomer. A canine tooth on each palatine. Dorsal fin beginning before origin of anal fin. At least two rows of small papillae on bady, anterior row running from behind head to above anus along dorsal edge of body, posterior row running from above anus to caudal peduncle on midline of body. A long and slender penis with large urogenital sinus present in males. One crest present on each side of urogenital sinus.

Remarks:
B.dicolor resembles B. diaphana known from Indo-West Pacific but differs from the latter in having a long, slender penis and the presence of one canine tooth on each palatine. (Miyake and Arai)
