スリナムオオナデシコガイ（新称）（Amber Spondylus）

特 徴：
殻長65mm，殻高63mm，殻幅45mm。殻は堅牢で左殻で地物に付いている。右殻は深く，耳状部明瞭で，殻体は卵円状。数10条の細い放射肋があり，そのうち10数本から鋭い棘列を出している。殻は白と淡紅色の太い放射色帯が交互にあって，白帯の棘は黄で，淡紅色帯の棘は暗紅色。棘は周縁のものほど長く鋭い。左殻は右殻より更に深く，殻頂部で地物についている。そこから?線にかけて三角形の所がある。殻表には10列内外の長い棘列がある。内面は白く，腹縁は刻まれている。靱帯が殻頂の直下にあり左右にかみ合わせの歯と歯槽がある。
採集記録：
水深128m（生貝20）。
分 布：
スリナム沖。
備 考：
日本近海に分布する，オオナデシコガイS. anacanthusに酷似するが，オオナデシコガイは黄色い色彩が殆どあらわれない点で異なる。
Diagnostic characters：
Length 55 mm, height 63 mm, breadth 45 mm. Shell solid oval, inequivalve, attached to substratum by left valve. Right valve with distinct ears, with several dozens of slender radial ribs among which 10 or more conspicuously spinous. Surface alternate with white and pale red radially. Spines in white bands yellow, those in red bands dark red, longer distally. Left valve much deeper than right, with triangular area extending from the beak to the hinge line, with some 10 rows of long spines. Interior white, with ligament, teeth and socket beneath umbo. Ventral margin crenulated.

Off Suriname. Shelf.
Remarks：
This species is close to Japanese S. anacanthus in general characters but the latter seldom presents yellowish coloration.
