マメガキ（Kitten's paw）
Plicatula gibbosa Lamarck, 1801
特 徴：
殻長15mm，殻高20mm，殻幅10mm。殻は堅牢で卵円形。右殻で地物に付着していて左殻は小さくふたのようになっている。殻表には太い放射肋が7〜8本あり，末端は成長線のため波打っている。腹縁は肋の末端が凹，肋間の末端は凸となり鋸歯状で，両殻はジグザグ状に噛み合う。?装は左殻にハ型の歯があり，右殻にはそれに合うハ型のソケットがある。筋痕は1つ。
採集記録：
水深84m（死貝1）。
分 布：
ノースカロライナ，フロリダ，テキサス。西インド諸島。バーミューダ。ブラジルまで。
Diagnostic characters：
Length 15 mm, height 20 mm, breadth 10 mm. Shell solid, oval, attached to substratum with right valve. Surface with strong 7─8 radial ribs of which distal portion wavy because of growth lines. Ventral margin serrated. Internally left valve with a pair of ridges that fit to a pair of groove on the right valve. Adductor muscle scar single.
Distribution：
North Carolina, Florida, Texas, West Indies, Bermuda and off Suriname. Sublittoral.
