特 徴：
殻長78mm，殻高157mm，殻幅13mm。殻は薄く脆く，三角形状。殻頂は細く尖り，背縁は直線的。前縁から腹縁にかけてはゆるい曲線を描きふくらみ，後縁は直線的で，背縁とは殆ど直角で逢う。殻表は鉄錆色で，殻頂から後・腹縁にかけて凡そ60本の細くかつ半管状の鱗の立っている放射状肋をもつ。放射肋は処々成長線に切られて段がついている。殻内面は外面と殆ど同色。放射状肋に従い細かくしわがある。筋痕は褐色。
採集記録：
水深54m（死殻l）。
分 布：
ノースカロライナ〜フロリダ，テキサス，西インド諸島，スリナム。
備 考：
同海域の何れの種よりも，鱗状突起が細かい点で識別される。
Diagnostic characters：
Length 78 mm, height 157 mm, breadth 13 mm. Shell thin, fragile, triangular. Umbo tapering and ending in a sharp point. Dorsal margin straight meeting in right angle with straight posterior margin. Ventral margin gently swollen. Surface iron colored, with some 60 serrated radial ribs. Interior similar to the surface in color. Muscle scar brown.
Distribution：
North Carolina to Florida, Texas, West Indies and Suriname. Sublittoral.
Remarks：
This species has the finest scales among the sympatric species in this region.
