Height 21 mm, Breadth 10 mm. Shell thin, conical, shining, amber colored, with a slender brown lines along the suture and one on the periphery of the body whorl. Whorls slightly inflated with indistinct growth line and occasionally brown axial lines. Base roundly inflated with a weak angle. Umbilicus broad, margined by brown line. Aperture oval. Columellar lip with a thin white callus reflexing over the umbilicus sealing it partially. Operculum thin, pale yellowish.
Distribution:
North Carolina, Florida, West Indies to Brazil.
Remarks:
This species resembles Western Pacific P. terebelloides but has fewer number of color bands and somewhat different outline.
